Industrial Kid Stuff
I'm pretty sure there is not anything I don't love about industrial design. (Are there enough double negatives in that sentence for you?) Well, thanks to Restoration Hardware, we have it for kids! Woohoo!
Are those vintage boxing gloves? Also, the striped baskets! Please. These shelves are just perfect for a little dude's room.
I'm getting giddy just thinking of kids hanging out at these old fashioned chairs and tables.
This is a locker style dresser. Um, hello wagon wheel lamp.
The Baby & Child Restoration Hardware line has oh-so-much more than this! In just about every style, too. Check it out!

S'mores in a Pan
S'mores in a Pan
{Recipe from here}
8 cups Golden Grahams cereal
6 cups mini marshmallows (10 oz. bag), divide into 5 cups and 1 cup
6 single serving Hershey chocolate bars (aka, NOT king size, just regular size)
5 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Place chocolate bars in freezer and chill well. Once the bars are very chilled mash them with a rolling pin (or coffee mug or whatever) and then unwrap them. Place broken candy bars back in freezer. Butter a 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Melt five cups of marshmallows and butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Stir occasionally. Once the marshmallows have melted remove pot from stove. Add in cereal and mix well. Add in your remaining 1 cup of marshmallows and chocolate bar pieces. Smash mixture into buttered baking pan, and place pan in the refrigerator. Cool and serve.

Variation on Apple + Pear
When I saw the cover of this month's Martha Stewart Living magazine, I knew what I needed to do.
You see, when I made this green canvas with the grey apple on it awhile back, I knew it was not exactly what I wanted. Also, it was too small a print for the wall it was on. So, enter the pear. And my variation on the apple and pear pair from the magazine cover.
I switched the apple colors to pink, since the pink stem was what I liked best from the original apple. Then I chose a 20x30 canvas, painted it with Krylon spray paint in the color Blue Ocean Breeze and added a yellow pear.
I love the combination of colors. They are unexpected, playful and fun.
My apple is so much happier with a pear for a friend.

Target + Missoni
When anything happens in conjunction with Target I am, like, SO there. Because I am actually there just about every week, so, yeah, I'm there. But, seriously, it is always exciting when Target teams up with a big designer to bring top designs to the every day person. I like Missoni for their use of bold colors and geometric patterns. The florals are pretty sweet, too. Get ready to get retro. Here is a peek at their home decor line up.

The Missoni line at Target will be available for a limited time only so catch them in stores and online from September 12 - October 22.

DIY Mobile Kit
My daughter's bird mobile got all tangled up in the wind after a day of open windows recently and I had to throw it away! Boo! I've been on the lookout for another mobile to make but just don't have a ton of motivation to do the kind of work it took to fold 40 paper cranes like I did last time.
I just came across The Little Tiny Etsy shop and they sell kits to make your own. I love this idea!

This cupcake one is quite adorable. But I need a bird type one...

Framing Love Notes
I picked up the book Crafting a Meaningful Home at the library recently and really liked a lot of the ideas inside.
One project that caught my eye was this wall of framed love notes. I was rifling through some of our old love notes and, sadly, there aren't many artsy looking ones. Just a lot of gushing words. But I guess it's never too late to try my hand at stick-figure-style love notes, hmm?

Happy Tape
Have you heard of this stuff? It's Japanese-inspired masking tape and it's sooooo fun. I want every single color.
It won't permanently stick to anything, just like masking tape. You can rip it with your fingers and that resulting rough edge just makes it more fun to me. Who knew tape could be so fun? Fun, fun, fun.I got the striped set.
I like the preppy little touch these stripes add to photos, lists, wrapped gifts, and I even used it to put an "S" (for a lady named Sonya) on a gift bag when I forgot to get a card. I have also used it in my kids' baby books to stick in photos. I would otherwise use photo corners, but I love the playful style of the tape.
It's the small things.
P.S. Speaking of small things, Mr. Noah is 12 weeks old today!
