Bathroom Decor

My current bathroom decor is sad ... it's definitely the room I've most neglected. While looking for inspiration, I came across several photos from Lonny that have a theme: picture groupings, many of them black and white. It hadn't occurred to me to do a picture grouping in a bathroom, that's more of a thing in living rooms, right?

Nope! I think the bathroom is a great place to have fun with your decor, make it less serious than other rooms perhaps.

It can still feel posh, too.

And I always love a good striped bathroom. Just bookmarking this one for someday when I can paint!

Valentines Day Decorations

Valentines Day is QUICKLY approaching...its the time of year that we cover the house in hearts and spread the LOVE. Here are some inspirational pictures that I found HERE

I love this picture because I have those dining chairs. They are from Ikea and believe it or not are made out of PAPER! They are super comfortable too.

Plate Wall

I've been itching to change some things around my house. The New Year will do that to you. It's got to be on the cheap, though. December was a little too fun for us so I need to scale back on spending. So here's my idea for one of my dining room walls: slowly collect plates from thrift stores and the sale cabinets of Anthropologie and make a little plate wall. Here's some great inspiration for getting my juices flowing.

White, white, white. So pristine. So organized.

This hodge podge display fits me better. I don't like too much matchy matchy, and I also have no patience for perfectly situating most of my wall hangings. And while we're in this room, take a look at that bird cage! Cool!

An idea for pairing plates with a mirror. I think I'd take a different route and do smaller, different shaped mirrors interspersed throughout the plates.

This white and blue display is like WOW. I love it, especially with all those wingback chairs. Makes me feel fancy.

Nie & Halloween Flashback

Halloween is Sunday! Have you decorated yet? I've only JUST gotten excited about it. The air is chilly, the leaves are falling down, I finally got my daughter's costume all situated. It'll be her first trick or treating experience! I can't wait. I am terrible at decorating for holidays, but you know who isn't? In fact she may as well OWN the holidays. You know who I'm talking about: NieNie from NieNie Dialogues. I eagerly anticipate her Halloween home decor every single year. It's never contrived or plastic-y ... just stylishly spooky. These photos are from 2007. To get this look you could literally walk out your front door, grab some branches and you're halfway there.

Adding little extras like the birds and spiders would be a cinch. Dollar store!

And you could grab tiny pumpkins as part of your grocery shopping trip, they are overflowing in the produce section.

And I could see that rusty cake plate coming from your local Goodwill.

Fabulously frightening!

Love and looking forward to this weekend of fun!
